Vulva Interview: with Orchid

This is a reoccurring interview that the TFC blog conducts with random women. The idea is to show how varied and unique each woman's sexual experience can be. To protect the interviewee's privacy, she will be identified as her favorite flower.

TFC: Age?

O: 32

TFC: When is the last time you looked at your vulva?

O: A few months ago, right after I read your book.

TFC: What does it look like to you?

O: Gross.

TFC: Age at first orgasm and how did you achieve it?

O: Early childhood. Corner of the mattress.

TFC: What does an orgasm feel like to you? Do you have a definition for orgasm?

O: Tension and release. It requires great imaginative focus – the translation of thoughts into a physical response.

TFC: When was your most recent orgasm and what were the circumstances?

O: Sometime in the couple weeks. Sex with my fiancé.

TFC: Have you ever had trouble reaching orgasm? if so, how did it make you feel?

O: Yes, but to be totally honest, it never bothered me much. Orgasm was never the point. Sex is plenty fun without it.

TFC: What did you do to overcome?

O: To some extent, I met the right guy. And I learned to stop feeling like using that guy to masturbate against – which is essentially what it takes for me -- was a selfish thing.

TFC: Have any nicknames for your vulva?

O: No

TFC: What is the best piece of sex advice you've ever received?

O: Give lots of blowjobs. Equity is not nearly as important as keeping the flame burning. (This is less received advice than a hard-won lesson)
